How thin is the veneer of civilization?

Agenda:

- 6:00 - 7:23 PM Happy (Last) Hour, with drink specials and pizza
- 7:23 - ????????????????

Show up on time if you can, since we have an action-packed (literally!) evening planned. The organizer team has worked hard and is ready to host a fun and very thought-provoking event. The first hour or so is a time to check-in, grab something to eat and drink, and socialize with other members. The rest of the evening will be quite busy :-)

As with some of our more popular events, space is first-come, first-serve. To avoid lines and to guarantee entry, show up early!

Great idea for a meeting. For all those concerned with threats to the very existence of human civilization, I invite you to contribute to the Lifeboat Foundation, which is designed to prevent the end of civilization. They have some of the world's top minds working on the problem. Check it out at www.lifeboat.com

Why not make a donation to help save humanity? What better way to spend your money.

There's never been any true civilisation. Ultimately man's need for power has always prevailed.

The end of the world will come in the form of lemon meringue pies.

The future of "civilization" may depend on the world's ability to survive the catastrophic crash of the US economy and the havoc that will likely be wreaked by the panicked, and likely aggressive, flailings of whichever administration happens to be in power at the time. Will we destroy the word for SUVs and MTV?. Cheery thought.
